Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Lodia Mary LaCroix, 93, a former resident of Union Street in Bennington, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation on Bennington.

She was born in St. Cajetan D’Armagh, Quebec, Canada, Feb. 24, 1912. She was the daughter of the late Cyprian and Desanges (Boutin) LaCroix. She received her education in Bennington. Lodia was one of 19 children.

In earlier years, Lodia was employed at the EZ Mills, Allen A. Mill and the Vin Hoy Factory in Bennington. Lodia lived in the family home on Safford Street from 1930 until the time of her mother’s death, in 1972.

She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church and was a member of the St. Jean the Baptist Society. Lodia loved nature and the outdoors and enjoyed her home. .

Survivors include a sister, Jeannette LaCroix Davendois Kulas of Bennington; a niece, Patricia Dwyer of Bennington; and many more nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters; Adele Carrol, Joseph LaCroix, Aurille LaCroix, Desanges Pellerin, Emma Beauregard, Marie Blanchard, Alfred LaCroix, Anna Kulas and Arthemice LaBrie. She is also predeceased by eight brothers and sisters who had lived in Canada.

Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home on Saturday morning, Nov. 26 from 11 until 11:30 a.m. at which time a prayer service will be offered followed by a Mass of resurrection at noon at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church in Bennington.

Interment will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery.
