1921-2010 EAST DORSET, VT Lois DeCamp, 88, a resident of Pleasant Street in East Dorset, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2010, at Rutland Regional Medical Center in Rutland, Vt.
Born in South Londonderry, Vt., on Nov. 12, 1921, the daughter of Alonzo and Mary Howard Capen, she attended school in Hartland, Vt.
Lois worked as a caregiver for many area families for over 30 years. Earlier in her working career she worked at the Landry mat in White River Junction, Vt., the South Londonderry Elementary School and also provided catering services.
She loved family get togethers and picnics.
Lois married Bert DeCamp in Ludlow, Vt., on Mar. 9, 1940. Mr. DeCamp passed away Oct. 20, 2004.
Lois leaves her children, Mary Weeks and her husband, Jim, of Manchester, Dorothy Beers of Manchester, Alberta Towsley and her husband, Sonny, of East Dorset, and Cindy Marino and her husband, Alfred, of Cavendish, Vt.; her sister, Nina Farnum of Rutland, Vt.; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by her sons, Gary Allen DeCamp, who died in 1950, and Larry Capen DeCamp, who died in 1973.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Graveside funeral services for Lois will be held Thursday morning, Apr. 22, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Oakland Cemetery in Springfield, Vt. There are no visiting hours.
