Obituary Condolences

POWNAL -- Funeral services for Mrs. Lois F. Babcock were held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Monday, July 12, 2004, with the Rev. Norma Drosky, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Bennington, officiating.

A musical selection, “Go Rest High on the Mountain” by Vince Gill, was offered during the service.

Words of remembrance were offered by a granddaughter-in-law, Mary Babcock.

Bearers were John Williamson, Harold “Skip” McLenithan, William McCoy, George Babcock, Keith Cross and Dennis Amadon.

The burial took place in the family lot in Oak Hill Cemetery in Pownal, with the Rev. Drosky offering the committal prayers.

A great-niece, Kay Lyn Williamson, played “Amazing Grace” on the bagpipes.

A reception followed the service at Mrs. Babcock’s home in Pownal.

Mrs. Lois F. Babcock, 85, a longtime resident of Pownal, died Thursday, July, 1, 2004, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington.
