Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Lois Ottaviano were held from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church on Tuesday, July 24, 2007, where the Mass of Resurrection was offered by the Rev. Vincent Coppola, c.s.c associate pastor. A prayer service at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home preceded the Mass.

The organist was Donald McMahon and the soloist was Monica Murray. Hymns offered during the mass were “O God, Beyond All Praising,” “I Know That My Redeemer Lives,” “Ave Maria” and “How Great Thou Art”

The casket pall was placed by a son-in-law Edgar J. Pierce. A wooden cross was then placed on Mrs. Ottaviano’s casket by her son, John. The Scriptural readings were read by a granddaughter, Bethany Pierce, and a grandson, Logan St. Peter, who also offered the Eulogy. The Offertory Gifts were presented by Lois’s three children, Mary St. Peter, Kathleen Pierce and John Ottaviano.

Serving as acolytes were Joseph Anton, Leonard Anzivino, Gerald McMurray and Francis Sausville.

The pall bearers were Mrs. Ottaviano,s five grandsons, Ryan C. and John N. Ottaviano, Logan St. Peter and Zachary and Nathan Pierce

The burial took place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery with Father Coppola offering the committal prayers.

A reception followed the service at the Mount Anthony Country Club.

Mrs. Lois Ottaviano, 80, a resident of East Street in Bennington, died Saturday, July 21, 2007, in Bennington. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
