Obituary Condolences

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. -- Lola Bombard, 86, died May 31, 2006, at the Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid. She resided in Bloomingdale for many years. She was married to the late Walter Bombard, with whom she had 14 children. She also had two children with her late partner, Joseph (Bud) Kilburn.

Lola was born in Raymertown on April 2, 1920, at the home of her parents, the late Oliver and Nellie Coonradt, who moved to Bennington, Vt., in 1940. She attended elementary schools in Raymertown and Hoosick. She was joyfully content to be a housewife and care for her children and eventually her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lola was happiest when there was a child on her lap. Throughout her adult life despite the trials and tribulations, and there were many, she kept her joyful attitude and met every obstacle with a smile. She will be sorely missed by those who could always turn to her for comforting and a hug.

Lola is survived by three daughters, Joan Drake, Gail Bombard and Pamela Bombard; seven sons, Larry Bombard, James Bombard, Melvin Bombard, William Bombard, Bruce Bombard, Francis Kilburn and Scott Kilburn; two brothers, Harold and Kenneth Coonradt; a sister, Alice Howard; also 34 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara; three sons, Walter, Kenneth and Steven Bombard; a sister, Ruth Coonradt Christian Zoszak; and three brothers, Earl, Ernest and LeRoy Coonradt.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, 213 West Main St., Bennington. Services will be private.
