SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Lonie Bradley Troumbley, 90, of Southport Road, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004.

Born in Rutherford County, N.C. on Jan. 21, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Leander “Pink” and Martha Matilda Searcy Bradley.

Mrs. Troumbley accepted Christ into her heart and joined Croft Baptist Church in 1951, where she was awarded “Mother of the Year” in 1992. She retired from Spartanburg Sportswear and was a homemaker. Mrs. Troumbley was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving are her loving husband of 58 years of marriage, David Kenneth Troumbley of the home; daughters Alice Gosnell of Spartanburg, Carolyn Doris Dunaway of Wellford and Rena Gail Parks of Spartanburg; one son, Ricky Wendall Bradley of Spartanburg; and grandchildren reared in the home are Melisa Diane Owens, Ruth Ann Crawford, Amber Noel Owens Horton, Tara Ann Owens, Evan Black and Kateland Black, all of Spartanburg. Mr. and Mrs. Troumbley were grandparents to a total of 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Martha JoAnn Johnson and Vicki Diane Mauney.

Mrs. Troumbley was very dedicated to her home and family and loved all of their children.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30, at Croft Baptist Church, with the Rev. Joe H. Dempsey and the Rev. Larry Carter officiating.

Burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
