Obituary Condolences

MANCHESTER -- Loraine Streeter, 91, a former resident of Manchester and Dorset, died at the Centers for the Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, where she had lived in recent years. She was born in West Wardsboro Dec. 15, 1913, the daughter of John and Ada (Sheldon) Nichols. She attended local schools and graduated from Burr & Burton Seminary.

She was married to Ted Streeter, who died in 1989. She had spent some years in Arizona and Oklahoma. She lived in Dorset for some time and was a member of the Congregational Church of Dorset. Loraine was a member of the Moose Club and enjoyed reading and dancing.

She is survived by her son, Richard Streeter of Pawlet; her daughter, Patricia Shanley of Tucson, Ariz.; her sisters, Jackie Bleach of Cornwall and Helen Tyler of Dorset; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers John Jr., Fredrick, Carl and Howard, and sisters Bea McWayne and Elizabeth Monroe.

Her cremated remains will be committed to the earth in the family cemetery lot. There are to be no services. Arrangements are under the care of Brewster Funeral Service in Manchester.
