1984 - 2014 WELLS, VT. Lorne Robert Blair, age 30, a resident of Bullfrog Hollow Rd in Wells, died on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014. He was born in Bennington on May 5, 1984, and is the son of Timothy B. and Lori (Harwood) Blair, also of Wells. Lorne was a graduate of Mt. Anthony Union High School in Bennington. He had worked as a self-employed "Jack of All Trades". Lorne started playing music at the age of five, following in his father's footsteps. He has enjoyed music all his life. Lorne was an avid guitar and mandolin player. On occasion, he played with Vermont's favorite jam band Twiddle, and with other various Bluegrass bands at festivals and band jams. Lorne is most noted for his improv playing. He was an accomplished cook and carpenter, a very creative mind with a huge zest for life. He enjoyed a unique existence with the spiritual nature of the woods. He enjoyed hunting deer, fishing and spending time in the woods with his father. He has fought several obstacles in his life, and is a beautiful being that will be missed. Besides his parents, Lorne is survived by one brother, Timothy II, and his wife, Meredith of Bridgton, Maine. He leaves his maternal grandparents; Ernest and Cathleen Harwood of Shaftsbury, Vt. and his paternal grandparents; Robert and Sheila Blair of Manchester, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, two nephews and a large circle of musical friends. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning, Oct. 4, 2014 at the Harned Fowler VFW Post in Manchester Center at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard McSherry officiating. Friends are invited to stay and reminisce with the family until 1 p.m. Musicians are invited to bring their instruments for a jam. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family. Lorne was a strong supporter of Vermont and its local products, so support the "Buy Local Movement". Arrangements are under the direction of the MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICE, Bonnet St. in Manchester, Center, VT.
