Lorraine L. Vivaldi 1927 - 2009 BENNINGTON, VT Lorraine L. Vivaldi, 81, of Tel Road Bennington, Vt., residing with her daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Dennis Amadon, and formerly of Sarasota, Fla., died Friday June 12, 2009 at her residence following a brief illness. She was born in Bennington, Vt., Nov. 5, 1927. She was the daughter of Eli C. and Lucy T. Bellemare LaPorte She received her education in Bennington Schools and attended Bennington High School and then went to Beautician School. Lorraine married Raymond Vivaldi, Sept 25, 1948 at St. Francis de Sales Church in Bennington, She owned and operated the Ranch Beauty Salon on Dewey St. in Bennington for many years. Lorraine enjoyed playing cards, going to dinner at different restaurants with friends and cleaning. Her home and family were her main interest. She was a member of the former Bennington Club and active in the Meals-On-Wheels Program both in Bennington and Florida. She leaves her husband, Raymond Vivaldi, of Bennington; a daughter, and son-in-law, Joanne and Dennis Amadon of Bennington; three granddaughters, Lisa Zampini of Buxton, Maine, Erica Hensley of Bennington, Vt., and Jessica Dean of Mattison, Conn.; a grandson, Eric Ayer of Clinton, Ohio; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Rita Scullary of Delray, Fla., Evelyn Carelli of Lakeworth, Fla., and Genevieve Elwell of Bennington, Vt. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by two sisters Marjorie LaPorte, and Beatrice Scott and two brothers Raymond and Robert LaPorte. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME, in Bennington on Tuesday, June 16 at 2 p.m.. Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. The burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery. If friends desire contributions in memory of Lorraine may be made to the VNA and Hospice at the Southwestern Vermont Health Care through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201 Guestbook condolences may be made at www.maharandsonfuneralhome.net
