YERRINGTON, Nev. -- Louis E. Lucier, 79, of Yerrington, died Monday evening, March 7, 2005, at Washoe Medical Center in Reno following a long illness.

Born in Williamstown, Mass. Dec. 5, 1925, he was the son of the late Wilvbur and Maude (Bratcher) Lucier. He received his education in local schools there.

Lou was a long-haul truck driver, working for local companies. He served in the U.S. Army, receiving honorable discharge in 1946.

Following his retirement in 1990, Lou moved to Nevada, where he enjoyed the outdoors.

Survivors include three sons, Burt Lucier of Pownal, Vt., Mark Lucier of North Bennington, Vt. and Dan Lucier of Ormond Beach, Fla.; three daughters, Donna Lucier of Reno, Debbie Pinsonneault of Palm Bay, Fla. and Laurie Pinsonneault of East Arlington; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his former wife, Jean (Rondeau) Purdy.

A memorial service will be held March 16 at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.
