Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- The funeral of Mrs. Louis J. Rohm was held from St. John the Baptist Church in North Bennington on Oct. 18, Monday morning, where the liturgy of Christian death and burial was concelebrated by the Rev. Edward Howard, pastor of St. John the Baptist Church, and the Rev. Michael DeMasi, retired pastor of the church. Assisting at the altar was Mr. Yvon Matte.

The church pall was placed on the casket by her son-in-law, H. Jon Endres; two grandsons, Jon F. Endres and Walter A. Endres; and friends Paul Gauthier, Edward Molloy and Joseph Browe. The cross was placed on the casket by grandson Walter A. Endres.

Organist for the Mass was Mrs. Louise Gauthier. The choir for the Mass consisted of Mrs. Mildred Pierce, Ms. Monica Murray and Mr. Randall Frost. The trumpet was played by Ms. Susan Green.

The prelude music performed by Louise Gauthier and Susan Green was “It’s a Wonderful World,” the processional hymn was “City of God,” and the presentation music, “I’ll Walk With God,” was performed solo by Randall Frost.

The responsorial psalm, “The Lord is My Light,” was sung by the choir.

The communion hymns were “Soul of My Savior,” and “Redeeming Love.” The recessional hymn was “When the Saints Go Marching In,” played by Susan Green on the trumpet.

Old and New Testament readings were offered by Mrs. Phyllis Molloy, offertory gifts were presented at the altar by Mrs. Mae Fox and Mr. Arthur Simmons. Several poems were read prior to the final blessing and were read by Mrs. Kathy Chicanowski, Mrs. Kathy Sattherwaite, Lisa Palmi and a grandson, Jon F. Endres. Burial took place in the family lot in St. Columban’s Cemetery in Arlington, with the Rev. Howard and the Rev. DeMasi offering the commital prayers.

A reception followed at St. John the Baptist Church Hall.

Bearers for the services were son-in-law H. Jon Endres, grandsons Jon F. Endres and Walter A. Endres and friends Paul Gauthier, Edward Molloy and Joseph Browe.

Honorary bearers were members of the St. John the Baptist Sodality, and included Margaret Mailhot, Elizabeth Becker, Eileen Flynn, Jill Levin, Mae Fox, Norma Cole, Agnes Carrier, Madeline Gratton and Lenora Scott.

On Sunday afternoon, Father DeMasi and Father Howard celebrated the vigil service at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home.

Mrs. Louise J. Rohm died October 14, 2004 at the Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center. Arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
