Louise Rose 1911 - 2008 BENNINGTON Louise Rose, 97, widow of Leon Rose, a longtime resident of Division Street, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, at Twin Maples Community Care Home following a long illness. Born in Armagh, Quebec, Canada, on Aug. 28, 1911, daughter of Mathias and Elizabeth Roy Corriveau. Louise received her education in schools in Armagh and later in Bennington. Mr. & Mrs. Rose were married Oct. 28, 1939, at Scared Heart Church in Bennington. Mr. Rose died June 27, 1969. In earlier years Louise had been employed at EZ Mills in Bennington. For many years Louise and Leon operated Rose's Grocery on North Street and later on River Street until her retirement in 1980. Mrs. Rose was a member of Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church and also a member of St. Anne's Society at the church. She leaves three grandchildren, Edward Czarnecki III of Pittsfield, Mass., Kathy Tognazzi of Whitinsville, Mass., and Eric Czarnecki of New York City; a brother, Alexander Corriveau of Bennington; a son-in-law, Edward Czarnecki of Williamstown, Mass.; two sisters-in-law, Simone Corriveau and Anna Corriveau, both of Bennington and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Louise was predeceased by a daughter, Lorraine Czarnecki, five sisters and four brothers, Aurea Lemieux, Albertine LaCroix, Maria Marcoux LaFlamme, Emma LaBrie, Alexina LaCroix, Joseph, Elzear, Louis and Leonard Corriveau. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME Friday, Nov. 14, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. with a prayer and from Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church at 12 noon where the Mass of Resurrection will be offered. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery. Should friends desire contributions in Louise Rose's memory may be made to either Sacred Heart School or the Bennington Rescue Squad through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
