MANCHESTER -- Lucille Frances “Gram” Campney, 90, a lifelong resident of Manchester, passed away at her home on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007. She was born in Manchester on Oct. 14, 1916, the daughter of Cecil and Anna Frances (Hughes) Edgerton. She was married to Franklin Burton Campney. Mr. Campney passed away on April 15, 1977.

”Gram” was an avid Red Sox fan and loved watching golf, especially Tiger Woods. She always welcomed people into her home, considering it a “Halfway House” by saying it was “halfway between home and where you’re going.” She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her children: Jean Sargood of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., Rita Pash of Bethel, Theodore Jzyk of Franklin, Mass., Anna Hoyt of Arlington and Lucille Kapusta of Manchester; stepchildren Burton Campney of Manchester, Mary Nemitz of Florida and Franklin Campney of Missouri; 36 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by stepchildren Gerald and Catherine Campney.

Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
