Lydia Roth-Lombardy 1923 - 2009 BENNINGTON, VT Lydia Roth-Lombardy, 85, formerly of Sunderland, Vt., and a resident of Crescent Manor Nursing in Bennington, passed away peacefully Monday, March 30, 2009 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. Lydia was born in St. Albans, N.Y., on June 6, 1923, daughter of Andrew and Mary Miller Sioss, attended local schools and graduated from Dominician Commercial High School in New York City. Lydia worked as an administrative secretary in the Massapequa, New York Public School System before retiring to Vermont in the 1970's. Lydia loved Vermont, enjoyed gardening, painting, was an avid reader and cherished times spent with her family. She was a member of the Manchester Country Club and St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church in Arlington, Vt. Lydia leaves her daughter Susan Nichol of Amityville, N.Y., her grandsons, Matthew and Michael and her great-grandsons, Vincent and Joseph. She was preceded in death by her first husband John Roth, her second husband John Lombardy and her son John Jay Roth. FUNERAL NOTICE: Private graveside services for Lydia will be held in the family lot in St. Columban's Cemetery in Arlington, Vt. There are no visiting hours.
