Obituary Condolences

NORTH POWNAL -- Burial offices with thr Holy Eucharist were celebrated Friday, July 23, 2004 at 11 a.m. at St. Andrews Chapel, Blackinton, Mass. for Marcel A. Langlais, with the Vicar Peter Pierson as celebrant.

Organist was Nathan McConnell. Burial followed in the family lot in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown, Mass. Bearers were sons Ernest and Alan Langlais, son-in-law Carl Dickinson, Christopher Dickinson, grandson Shannon Pruden and William Thomas.

Full military honors were accorded by Richard A. Ruether Post No. 152 American Legion, Williamstown with Chaplain Edward Pratt and Sergeant-at-Arms George Sylvester; Rolland Roy and Gary Walsh were flag folders. The firing squad was Ernest Monroe, Frank Scalise, George Sylvester and Richard Babcock. Ronald Whitney played taps.

The flag representing Mr. Langlais’ World War II naval service was presented to his daughter Laura A. Dickinson.

Following the burial a reception was held at his residence on Dean Road, North Pownal.

Mr. Langlais died July 20, 2004.

The George M. Hopkins Funeral Home was in charge.

Preceding the church service a Masonic prayer service by Mount Anthony Chapter No. 13 F & A.M. was held at the Hopkins Funeral Home at 10 a.m.
