Margaret Boose Obituary
Margaret M. "Jeanne" Boose

1922-2013 PITTSTOWN Margaret M. "Jeanne" Boose, 91, a longtime resident of Pittstown, died peacefully, Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at the Hoosick Falls Heath and Rehabilitation Center following a short illness.

Born January 9, 1922, in Troy, Jeanne was the daughter of the late William J. and Julia M. (McMahon) Boose and the oldest of the "Boose Girls," the first set of triplets born at the former Troy City Hospital currently known as St. Mary's Hospital.

Jeanne attended the local district one room school.

At an early age she started working the 300-acre family dairy farm, once owned by her grandparents, with her parents and sisters, caring for the farm animals, raising crops, making hay and learning how to keep up the house and barns. She also worked for a time, with her sister Joan, as a seamstress for an outside business concern. Of the three sisters, Jeanne was the only one who learned to drive a car and took pride in her ability to cook and make delicious soups.

She was a communicant of the former St. George Roman Catholic Church for many years. Among her favorite pastimes was riding with her sisters to Hoosick Falls on summer evenings to listen to the bands play at the Concerts in the Park.

Jeanne is survived by a sister, Joanne E. "Joan" Boose of Pittstown and cousins, Roy Hand of East Hoosick and Doris Sargood of Pittstown and several second cousins including caregiver and friend, Keith Dooley of Pittstown.

In addition to her parents, Jeanne was predeceased by her sister, the late Julia C. "Jane" Boose, and late cousins, John Delurey, Ray Delurey, Rita Mae (Delurey) Dooley and Carl Cunningham.
