WATERFORD, N.Y. -- Margaret “Marge” Dunn Artt, 84, formerly of 4th St., died Friday evening, Sept. 29, 2006, at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Born in Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Frank A. and Anna Bannon Dunn and stepdaughter of the late Anna Maran Dunn. She was a graduate of Waterford High School Class of 1940. She had also graduate from Mildred Elley School and attended SUNY at Albany.

Mrs. Artt had been employed at the Monsey Products Co. and retired from there as an accounts receivable clerk. For many years she was employed by the former Marine Midland Bank.

Marge was a former member of the Mothers Club at St. Mary’s School, served on the Waterford Village Zoning Board of Appeals and the Village Bicentennial Committee. She was a member and past president of the Siena Woman’s Club, a member of the Cohoes Senior Citizens and the Waterford Historical Museum and Cultural Center. She also did volunteer work at the Waterford Public Library and the Cohoes Music Hall.

She was mother of Leanne M. O’Connor, of Waterford, David W. Artt, of Arlington, Vt., Paul R. Artt, of Dallas, Texas, Philip T. Artt, of Coppell, Texas, and the late John D. Artt. She is sister of William E. Dunn, of Speigletown, and grandmother of Mark and Scott O’Connor, Jason, Darnell, Heather, Ryan, Kelsey and Nathan Artt. Three great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be Monday at 8:30 a.m. from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home 133 Broad St. (Rt. 32), Waterford and at 9 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Church, Cohoes. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterford.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Resident’s Fund at Northwoods Rehab in care of the funeral home office.
