LIVERPOOL, N.Y. -- Margaret Eldred Green, 90, of Rosewood Heights Health Center, died Saturday, May 8, 2004. She had been a resident of Liverpool for the past seven years. She is survived by her daughter, Sarah E. Bratspis of Albany, and daughter-in-law, Sally R. Eldred of Liverpool; four grandsons, Stephen Bratspis, Jeffery Bratspis and David Bratspis of Albany and Evan Eldred of Liverpool; one granddaughter, Dr. Ann Eldred and her husband, Dr. Robert Johnson of Cooperstown; a great-granddaughter, Emma Johnson of Cooperstown as well as her brother, Brainerd Mears and his wife Anne Carter Mears of Laramie, Wyo.; and two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Bushnell Mears of Rhode Island and Jane Ordway of Albany. She has several nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was the widow of Dr. Lewis Eldred and Gilbert Green and taught Latin and French and substituted in the Niskayuna Public Schools prior to 1969. She has several step-children, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren in the Hoosick Falls area and on the West Coast.

Mrs. Green was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Wheaton College and a member of the Liverpool First United Methodist Church, Liverpool Historical Society and The Friends of the Liverpool Library.

Graveside services will be held at the Hoosick Cemetery, Hoosick for family and friends on Sunday, June 13 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Liverpool Public Library, the Health Center in Hoosick or to Wheaton College in Norton, Mass.
