Margaret L. Cyphers

BENNINGTON -- Margaret L. “Peggy” Cyphers, 74, a resident of Scott Street, died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006, at the Albany Medical Center, following a brief illness.

She was born in Elizabeth, N.J., July 25, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Lester H. and Alice E. (Clark) Wright. She received her education in New Jersey and was a graduate of Drake Business College in Linden, N.J.

Prior to moving to Bennington Peggy was employed as a legal secretary at the Heim Law Firm. After moving to Bennington, Peggy worked for the law office of Manfred E. Ehrich Jr. and H&R Block.

She was a member of Sacred Heart-Saint Francis de Sales Church. Her family and grandchildren were her main interest.

Survivors include two daughters, Alice and her husband, Bill Perry, of Bennington, and Kathleen Cook and her fiancé, Bill Litt, of Bennington; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by several cousins.

The funeral will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, Sept. 20, at 10:30 a.m. with a prayer and then from Sacred Heart-Saint Francis de Sales Church at 11 a.m. where the Mass of resurrection will be offered.

The burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, Sept. 19, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., when the family will be in attendance.
