ARLINGTON -- Margaret M. Webster, 92, a resident of Arlington from 1965 to 1983 and 1995 to 2000, died Feb. 9, 2005 at the Centers for the Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington. She was a recent resident of the Village of Fillmore Pond in Bennington.

Margaret was born in New York City Dec. 25, 1912, the daughter of John E. and Gertrude (Eisenhauer) Muniz. She grew up in New York City and attended New York schools, including Hunter College High School, and graduated from Hunter College with a BA degree in 1934.

She married Frank Walter Webster on Aug. 28, 1938 and raised a loving family. Mr. Webster died in 1955. Margaret taught elementary school in Grand Island, N.Y., Northport, N.Y. and Cambridge, N.Y. She retired in 1971 after 21 years of teaching. She had belonged to various organizations, including the Order of the Eastern Star and the Hunter College Alumni Association. She had been involved in church choirs and worked as a volunteer at the Martha Canfield Library in Arlington. In her free time, Margaret enjoyed music, stamp collecting, crochet, needlepoint and making afghans.

Margaret is survived by her son, Roger Webster, and her daughter-in-law, Wanda, of Arlington; her sister Joan Cummings of Roanoke, Va. and her children Joan and Arthur; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, Chris Webster and his wife Heather of Mendham, N.J., Jennifer Stebbins and her husband Doug of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, Tim Webster and his wife Sarah of Australia, Ted Webster and his wife Jenny of Australia, John Webster and his wife Michelle of Raymond, Wash., Tammy Webster of Manchester and Angela Webster of Pownal.

She was predeceased by her daughter Peggy Webster in 2000 and her son-in-law Donald Webster in 2003.

Services will be held at the gravesite in the West Arlington Cemetery in the springtime.
