Margaret Mary Tatro

1921-2013 BENNINGTON Margaret Mary Tatro, 91, a longtime resident of Park Street Extension in Bennington, Vt., died Wednesday February 6, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born in Middlebury, Vt., June 25, 1921. Margaret was the daughter of the late Walter and Margaret (Mitchell) Shewell. She received her education in the Middlebury schools.

On June 30, 1940 Margaret married Raymond Edson Tatro at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Middlebury. Mr. Tatro died January 11, 1979.

Margaret was a homemaker. Her family and grandchildren were her main interest. She also enjoyed Bingo, playing cards and reading. For over 25 years Margaret volunteered as a Gray Lady at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. She was a devout member of Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church.

Survivors include her children and their spouses David Tatro and Ursula of Raleigh, N.C., Pat Squiers and Greg, Annette Sausville and Mike and Bill Tatro and Karen all of Bennington; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was pre-deceased by a grandson Nathan Sausville and two brothers Ernest and Walter Shewell.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Friday February 8, 2013 at 1 p.m.

Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.

The burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery.
