SHAFTSBURY -- Mrs. Margaret Wilson, 92, a former resident of Maple Hill, died Sunday morning May 25, 2003 at Crescent Manor Care Centers following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Wilson was born in Ballymena, Northern Ireland on June 26, 1910, she was the daughter of Archibald and Eva (Ferguson) Patterson. She received her education in Northern Ireland and in Sea Cliff, Long Island as she came to this country at the age of 9. She was married to Ross C. Wilson in 1931, Mr. Wilson predeceased her in 1990. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson had first moved to the Shaftsbury area in 1949 and had lived for a number of years in Glens Falls, N.Y. before returning to Vermont. Mrs. Wilson enjoyed gardening and was regarded as an excellent seamstress.

She is survived by her daughter Alison F. Bow of Shaftsbury; a son Dennis A. Wilson of Rochester, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by a son, R. James Wilson, two brothers Edward and Fergus Patterson, and a sister, Norah Burns. In keeping with Mrs. Wilson’s wishes there will be no services.

Arrangements are under the care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, 213 West Main St., Bennington.
