Margaret "Peggy" Yavaniski 1930 - 2010 HOOSICK FALLS, NY Margaret "Peggy" Yavaniski, 80, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 21, at her residence on River Street in Hoosick Falls. She was the wife of the late William Yavaniski, who died several years ago. Peggy was born on June 1, 1930, in Hoosick Falls, daughter of Clarence and Pauline Stewart Baker. She attended schools in Hoosick Falls. Peggy worked for the Albany Felt Co. in Hoosick Falls and later in Albany, until retiring 25 years ago. She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Hoosick Falls. Peggy was known for decorating her house on River Street for holidays and her daily long walks. Peggy most enjoyed the time spent with family and friends. She leaves her sister, Kathryn Sicinski of Hoosick Falls; nieces, Kathryn Brown of Manchester Center, Vt., and Karen Kowalik of Pittstown; her grandson, John Yavaniski of Cleveland, Ohio., and several other nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a son, John Yavaniski. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be Tuesday, Aug. 24, at 10:30 a.m. from the MAHAR FUNERAL HOME, 43 Main St. in Hoosick Falls. The Office of Burial Rite will be celebrated at 11 a.m. from St. Mark's Episcopal Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the service at Maple Grove Cemetery in Hoosick Falls. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Second Chance Animal Shelter or the Rensselaer County Community Hospice through the funeral home.
