Marguerite McDaniel 1924 - 2008 BENNINGTON Marguerite P. McDaniel, 84, a resident of the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation died Friday morning, Nov. 21, 2008, following a long illness. Born in Berkley Springs, W. Va., on June 27, 1924, the daughter of Amos and Meda Cavander Fisher, Marguerite received her education in Toms River, N.J. She was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren. While living in New Jersey, Marguerite had been involved with several organizations, including the Gloria Chapter of the Eastern Star, the International Order of the Rainbows for Girls, and the Unit 129 American Legion Auxiliary, all in Toms River. Marguerite was a member of the Island Heights Methodist Church of Island Heights, N.J., and was a Sunday School teacher at the church. She also enjoyed handcrafts including, sewing, knitting, needlework, and cross-stitch. She also enjoyed camping. She was a volunteer with the Ocean County String Band, and had made many of their uniforms. She was also a school crossing guard in Island Heights. Her husband, Lester H. McDaniel, whom she masrried April 9, 1941, in Toms River, died March 17, 1997. Marguerite leaves three daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn and Joseph Herrmann of Shaftsbury, Bruce and Harriett Loveman of Richland, Wash., and Diane and Edward Murray of South Toms River, N.J.; 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, and one sister, Julia Sowhiskey of Florida. She was predeceased by two children, Lester "Bud" McDaniel and Marguerite "Susie" Respress, and by two brothers, Robert Fisher and William Fisher. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services will be private, by the family. Burial will take place in the family lot in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown, N.J.
