Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Marian A. Pierce were held from Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church Thursday, June 16, 2005, where the burial office, rite two with holy eucharist was offered by the Rev. Canon Robert J. Miner and the Rev. Penny Hawkins, deacon, officiating.

Serving as a crucifer and reader was Donna Maroney. The organist was Randall B. Krum. Mrs. Pierce’s daughter-in-law, Millie Pierce, sang soprano the hymns “Because He Lives” and “How Great Thou Art.” The congregation sang the communion prayer “Alleluia! The Strife is O’er.”

A eulogy was offered by a granddaughter, Mary Snow Babcock.

Bearers were six grandsons, Daniel Pierce, Timothy Pierce, Brian Babcock, Trevor Babcock, Keith Cross and Todd Pierce

The burial took place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Miner and the Rev. Hawkins offering the committal prayers.

A reception followed at the family home on Gage Street in Bennington

On Wednesday evening, members of the Bennington Fire Department and the Bennington County Sheriff Department paid their respects to the family.

Mrs. Marian A. Pierce, a longtime resident of Gage Street, died Sunday, June 11, 2005, at the Bennington Health and Rehabiltation Center.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington.
