Marian Cerretani SANDGATE Marian Cerretani, 87, of Sandgate, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2009, at Albany Medical Center, surrounded by her family.Marian was the daughter of Dominick and Theresa Constantino Bruno. She was a native of New Canaan, Conn., until retiring to Sandgate in 1986 with her husband, Dominick. During the formation of the First Presbyterian Church of New Canaan, she worked as a secretary doing the work of the Steering Committee, under the leadership of Stuart Higley of Brotherhood Higley. Simultaneously, she operated a small secretarial business in her home. Thereafter, Mrs. Cerretani gave up the home business and went to work full time for the First Presbyterian Church of New Canaan with the Rev. T Guthrie Speers, Jr. as Senior Minister. She served the church for 20 years. Her last place of employment was with Breitmayer Associates, Management Consultants, in the neighboring town of Stamford. Marian was married to the late Dominick A. Cerretani in 1945 and was married for 57 years. She leaves a son, Robert D. Cerretani and his wife, Joann, of New Canaan; a daughter Catherine T. Morgan and her husband, Jeffrey, of Arlington; seven grandchildren, Jaclyn, Madeline Finnegan (husband Jason), Joshua, Brian, Katie, and Paul; two great-grandchildren, Kayla and Gabrielle Finnegan; a sister, Catherine A. Tiani of Aiken, S.C., and many nieces and nephews. Marian was predeceased by six siblings, Ralph, Robert, Nicolas, Rose Clark, Marie Pauly and Stella Bruno. The legacy Marian will leave for generations to come is the mantle of prayer, evangelism and the love for her Savior Jesus Christ and her Family. FUNERAL NOTICE: The viewing will be held at Green Mountain Christian Center, 440 Main Street, Bennington, on Saturday, March 7, 2009, from 9 to 11 a.m. A Memorial Service will follow, officiated by the Rev. John Goyette and the Rev. Christopher Leighton of St. Paul's, Darien, Conn. Contributions for Marian B.
