KEARNEY, Neb. -- Marian (Mim) Hurlburt, a resident of St. Louis, Mo., died Aug. 3, 2004 in Kearney.

She was born Sept. 10, 1952 in Northfield, Vt., the youngest daughter of Kenneth and Mildred (Lyon) Drown. She was educated in Randolph and Northfield, Vt., graduating from Northfield High School in 1970 and the University of Vermont in 1974. Mim married Roy Hurlburt of Bennington, Vt. on May 25, 1974 in Randolph, Vt. She is survived by her husband, Roy, of St. Louis, Mo.; one son, Ethan, and one daughter, Laura, as well as a sister, Elizabeth Swift of Pittsford, Vt., a niece, a nephew and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mrs. Hurlburt was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Oakville, Mo., where she was involved in Christian education. She was a substitute teacher in the Fox School District and a dedicated volunteer at Wohlwend and Rogers Elementary Schools. She was also a vendor of jewelry and minerals and became an active member of the St. Louis Mineral and Gem Society and the Rock Hobby Club of St. Louis.

A memorial service was held in St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Oakville, Mo. Memorials may be given through St. Paul’s United Church of Christ for the Heifer Project International, 5508 Telegraph Road, Oakville, MO 63129.
