PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -- Marie A. Macbeth, 82, of Addoms Street, Plattsburgh, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, at the Meadowbrook Health Care Facility. She was born in Bennington, Vt., on Feb. 21, 1924, the daughter of Eugene and Stasia (Billick) Boutin.

Prior to moving to Plattsburgh, Marie was a graduate of UVM Class of 1945 and she taught school in Vermont and New York. Marie had been employed by the Clinton County Board of Elections retiring in 1996. She enjoyed volunteering at CVPH Medical Center, flower gardening and traveling to Maine.

Marie was a member of St. John’s Church, the Altar Rosary Society of St. John’s Church and the Catholic Daughters. She was predeceased by her parents, Eugene and Stasia Boutin, and her husband, Eugene Macbeth.

She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth A. Macbeth of Plattsburgh, Jean M. Backus and her husband John of Collierville, Tenn., three grandchildren, Stephanie Marie, Jason Eugene and Tabitha Clark Backus.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m., at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m., at St. John’s Church.

Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Friends wishing may make donations to the American Heart Association or the Sub-Acute Unit at Meadowbrook Health Care Facility.

Members of the Altar Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters are asked to meet Thursday at 3:30 p.m. for services.
