Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Marie Janssen were held from the Shaftsbury Methodist Church Oct. 10, 2005, with the Rev. Deborah Estey officiating.

Organist was George Paulin and soloist was Betty Paulin, a niece of Mrs. Janssen who sang “Until Then,” “Softly Tenderly” and “Precious Lord Take My Hand.” Hymns sung by the congregation were “Amazing Grace,” “In the Garden” and “Hymn of Promise.” Bearers were a grandson, Donald Wood, three grandsons-in-law, Wally King, John Mirallegro and Peter Lawrence and four great-grandsons, Adam and Ryan Wood, Jeremy King and Nicholas Mirallegro.

Sunday afternoon members of both VFW Post 1332 Ladies Auxiliary and the Gold Star Mothers conducted their services at the funeral home.

Burial took place in Center Shaftsbury Cemetery.

Mrs. Janssen, a resident of Cross Street, Bennington, died Oct. 6, 2005, at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home.
