Marie Letourneau

1924-2010 STAMFORD, VT Ms. Marie Blanche Letourneau, 85, of 117 Lincoln Rd., Stamford, Vt. died Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at Bennington Health and Rehab.

Born in Readsboro, Vt., on Nov. 19, 1924, daughter of Edward and Blanche Hurst Letourneau, she attended Readsboro schools and graduated from Whitingham High School in 1943.

Marie worked at Deerfield Glassine, Sprague Electric, and Vermont Hardwoods, where she was a supervisor. She was last employed as a custodian at Readsboro School from 1980 until her retirement in 1992.

She was a communicant of St. Joachim/St. John Bosco Church.

Marie enjoyed hooking rugs and was a Boston Red Sox fan. She especially enjoyed playing with her nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She leaves her sister, Rita LaPine, with whom she made her home; one brother, Edward Letourneau, of Bennington; 11 nieces and nephews, including Janie and Hillary Tatro who were her caregivers, and many grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Roger Letourneau.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Marie will be celebrated Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, at 11 a.m. at St. Joachim's Church, Readsboro. Burial will be in the spring in Village Cemetery. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA, are Monday from 5-7 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association in care of the funeral home.
