Marie A. Thompson

1929 - 2014 BENNINGTON Marie A. Thompson, 85, formerly of Meadow Lane in Shaftsbury, passed away May 31, 2014, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington. Marie was born in Arlington, Vermont on May 19, 1929, the daughter of Kenneth J. and Alice Mears Wilcox and attended local schools. In her earlier years, Marie worked at Polygraphic in North Bennington. She was a former 4-H leader, enjoyed camping at Lake George and Lake St. Catherine and enjoyed her home and spending time with her family. Marie is survived by her children, Gary Thompson and his wife, Carlene, of Sandgate, Pamela Meunier and her husband, Ray, of Bennington, and Jennifer Thompson and her fiance, Mark Robinson, of White Creek, N.Y.; brother, Arnold Wilcox of Arlington and Florida; her aunt, Cele Long of Bennington; grandchildren, Kim Morse, Katie Murphy, Jamie Lillie, Ken Wickenden and Jill Burke; eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, James P. Thompson, whom she married in Shaftsbury on August 24, 1946. Mr. Thompson passed away March 11, 2006. FUNERAL NOTICE: Graveside funeral services for Marie will be held Wednesday morning at 11 am in the family lot in Shaftsbury Village Cemetery. There are no visiting hours.
