Marilyn J. Greene

1936-2013 SHAFTSBURY Marilyn June Greene, 76, widow of Clement David Greene, Jr. a resident of Route 67A East in Shaftsbury, died on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Born in Bennington on July 28, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Julia Samantha Green.

Marilyn received her education in the Arlington schools. She married Clement on March 6, 1954 in Shaftsbury. Clement died June 13, 2011.

In earlier years Marilyn had been employed at the Hale Company and Mack Molding in Arlington. She retired from Stanley Tools in Shaftsbury after 30 years of service.

Marilyn was a past member of the Shaftsbury Fire Department Auxillary. She especially enjoyed time spent with her family and also enjoyed knitting, reading, and attending tag sales.

Survivors include six children including; Wanda J. Ellis of Shaftsbury, Michael D. Greene, Sr. and his wife Penny of Shaftsbury, Elaine S. Geoffroy and her husband Raymond of Lowell, Crystal D. Sandquist and her husband George Jr. of Shaftsbury, Timothy C. Greene and wife Nicole of North Bennington and Kevin L. Greene and wife Tina of Shaftsbury. She leaves 17 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marilyn was predeceased by a granddaughter, Maria L. Greene.

Funeral services will be held at the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 12 P.M. with Chaplain Kenneth Coonradt officiating.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. when the family will be in attendance.

Burial will take place in the family lot in Center Shaftsbury Cemetery.
