Marion Thompson Bellemare

1926 - 2013

EAST GREENWICH, R.I. Marion Thompson Bellemare went to be with the Lord on July 6, 2013 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, RI. She lived with her daughter Joyce in East Greenwich, RI.

Marion was born on Nov. 13, 1926, in Farsund, Norway, and emigrated with her parents, Joseph and Esther Thompson, to New York City. They then moved to White Creek, N.Y., in 1940 and Marion graduated from Hoosick Falls Central School in 1944. She worked in New York City and then came back home to work at the Bennington Hospital. After her marriage to Paul Bellemare in 1949, she became a homemaker and assisted Paul in his upholstery business on Lake Lauderdale.

Marion was a strong woman of faith, having taught Vacation Bible School and Bible classes at CCS. She attended the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Cambridge, N.Y. She believed in the saving power of Jesus Christ and the authority of His Holy Bible.

She was predeceased by her husband Paul J. Bellemare; by infant son, David; daughter, Sharon; brother, Howard Thompson , and by her parents.

She leaves her son, Michael Bellemare and his wife, Marilyn of Pawlet, Vt.; daughter, Joyce Bellemare of East Greenwich, R.I.; son, David Bellemare and his wife, Debbie, of Durham, Conn.; six grandchildren, Kristian Bellemare and wife, Shelby, of Meriden, Conn., Terrence Bellemare and wife, Jane, of East Hartford, Conn., Timothy Bellemare and wife, Rebecca, of East Hampton, Conn., Kimberly Ragosta and husband, Sam, of East Greenwich, R.I., Karin Bellemare of South Barre, Vt., and Andrew and Michelle Bellemare of Durham, Conn. She also leaves ten great-grandchildren, Luke, Andrew, David, Emily, Abigail, Michael, Brooke, Jack, Charlie and Lily.

Her surviving sister, Hulda Robertson, lives in White Creek, N.Y. She also leaves three nieces and a nephew.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 13, at 10 a.m. at the Gospel Lighthouse Church on Turnpike Road, Cambridge, N.Y. It will be followed by a graveside service at Rosewood Cemetery in White Creek, N.Y.
