SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Marion Herrick Carnagey, 79, passed away on Oct. 10, 2003. She was born in Pittsfield, Mass. She graduated from North Bennington High School in 1942. She also graduated from nursing school and worked at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, physicians’ offices and as a school nurse for Springfield public schools.

She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence N. Carnagey. Marion is survived by her daughter, Donna Gay, and her husband, David, of Papillon, Neb; grandchildren, Mike Conner and his wife, Elayna, of Tulsa, Okla., Lisa Nelson and her husband, Keith, of St. Cloud, Minn.; her son, William Carnagey and his wife, Glenda, of Fordland; granddaughter, Stacey Carnagey of Springfield; her siblings, Ardelia Morin of North Bennington, Vt., Ruth Wetherell, Bea Mattison and Arthur Paulin, all of Shaftsbury, Vt.

A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday evening, Oct. 23, 2003 at 6:30 p.m. at the Shaftsbury United Methodist Church with Pastor Deborah Trolenberg officiating. Interment took place in Springfield.

Memorials in her honor may be made to the Marion B. Carnagey Nursing Scholarship at St. John’s Foundation in care of Mickey Moore, 1235 E. Cherokee, Springfield, MO 65804. Local assistance is under the care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home in Bennington.
