Marion J. Perrott Shippey Schenectady Marion J. Perrott Shippey, 96, passed away on Saturday evening, March 15, at Dutch Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with her family by her side. Born in Bennington, Vt. on April 28, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Josephine LaPointe Perrott. She was raised and educated in Bennington and lived most of her life there until moving to the local area in 1992. She was a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Schenectady. Marion was a bookkeeper for many companies throughout her career, most notably, Fairdale Farms in Bennington. Married on Sept. 15, 1934, Marion was predeceased by her husband, Robert Shippey who passed away in 1981. She is also predeceased by her brothers, Richard and Patrick Perrott and her dear friends, Lillian Tomasone and Jenny Esposito. She leaves her son, Robert A. (Ann) Shippey of Woonsocket, R.I.; her daughter, Patricia (John) McMahon of Schenectady; eight grandchildren, including, Kirsten (Jonathan) Smith of Schenectady and Matthew (Bethany) McMahon of Clifton Park; several great-grandchildren, including, Rhiannon McMahon, Logan Missenis and Kaia McMahon; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. at GRISWOLD FUNERAL HOME, 1867 State St. Schenectady followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church, Schenectady. Interment will be in Bennington Park Lawn Cemetery, Bennington, Vt. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Dutch Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their compassion and dedicated care shown to Marion and her family during this time.
