1927 - 2016 SEARSBURG, VT Mrs. Marion D. Stark, widow of William Stark, a resident of Route 8 in Searsburg, VT, died at her home on Sunday morning, May 29, 2016 following a long illness. Born in Bennington, VT, June 10, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Effie (Greer) Armstrong. She received her education in Bennington schools. Mr. and Mrs. Stark were married in Bennington, he predeceased her on May 27, 1987. In earlier years, Marion had been employed at Thomson Mills in Bennington for twenty nine years. She was a former member of the Wilmington Baptist Church. Her interest and hobbies included writing poetry and assisting and taking care of the elderly. She wrote several poems, including Someday, and Springtime On The Mountain which was published in a book od poems entitled The Peace We Knew. And later was put to music by Five Star Music Masters in Boston. Survivors include two sons: Richard S. Day of St. Albans, VT, and James E. Day of Searsburg, She leaves five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Also she is survived by nieces including Ann Maguire of Texas. Marion is predeceased by one sister, Ethel Paquin, and two brothers: Edward Armstrong, and Raymond Armstrong, as well as one granddaughter Jennifer Day and one grandson James E.
