During most of her career, Marge worked as a bank manager in California. Marge was a co-founder of the League of Women Voters in Los Angeles. She was a member and officer of the American Association of University Women in Vermont and several reading clubs, including those in Bennington, Manchester and West Point. She is survived by her husband, Bob Carter of Shaftsbury; a son, Miles Cameron Sherwood of San Francisco; two sisters, Joyce Repsold of Ben Lomond, Calif., and Martha Jordan of Wheeling, Ill., and a brother, Stewart Peterson of Sun City, Ariz.
