HOOSICK FALLS -- Marjorie (Eycleshymer) Nible, 92, a longtime resident of Harrison Avenue in Bennington and formerly of Pittstown, died peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, at the Hoosick Falls Health Center, following a short illness.

Born in Johnsonville, N.Y., March 12, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Amy (Hayner) Eycleshymer and the wife for over 67 years of the late Arnold Nible.

Mrs. Nible was a class of 1931 graduate of Hoosick Falls High School.

From 1950 until her retirement in 1968, she was employed as a clerk by the United States Post Office in Melrose.

She was a member of the Pittstown United Methodist Church, the Hoosick Falls B.P.O.E. Lodge # 178 Ladies Auxilary, the Woman’s Club of Valley Falls and Vicinity and the General Federation of Women’s Clubs of America. For many years, she was a member of the United Methodist Church of Bennington where she served as the secretary of the Circle IV.

More recently, she was a homemaker in Bennington until becoming a resident of the Hoosick Falls Health Center in September 2001.

Mrs. Nible is survived by a sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Pauline) Gifford of Eagle Bridge, N.Y., three nephews and several grand nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Jan. 3, 2005, at the Howard B. Tate & Son Funeral Home Inc., 2237 N.Y. Route 7, located in Raymertown, with the Rev. Bill Elwell officiating. Spring interment will take place in Elmwood Cemetery in Schaghticoke.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. prior to the funeral service. At the request of the family, contributions, if desired, in memory of Marjorie Nible, may be made to the Bennington Rescue Squad, 120 McKinley Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
