WHITE CREEK, N.Y. -- Marjorie Ellen Bentley Tollisen , 91, a former resident of White Creek, N.Y., died Sept. 9, 2004 at Crescent Manor Care Centers following a brief illness.

She was born in England March 19, 1913. She was the daughter of the late Frederick James and Alice Jane (Day) Bentley. Marjorie attended schools in Scotland, England and the United States. She arrived in the United States from England on April 3, 1925.

She married Harry E. Tollisen May 4, 1957 at Saint Peters Episcopal Church in Bennington, Vt. Mr. Tollisen died in 1972.

In earlier years Marjorie was employed at E. Z. Mills and the Thomson Manufacturing Company in Bennington.

She was a longtime and active member of Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church. Marjorie also enjoyed her flower gardens.

Survivors include two children, Enoch Tollisen and his wife Janet of Punta Gorda, Florida, Emma D’Amico and her husband Albert of Deep Creek, Florida, four grandchildren, Joanis Hoard and her husband Greg, Lee Tollisen, Kim Crandall and Karen Caumi, four great-grandchildren, Nicole, Kasey, Alida and Travis Hoard, two very close neighbors, Ernest and Marion Bolster of White Creek and Dan and Peggy Caron of White Creek.

A graveside committal service will be private and held at the convenience of the family at Rosewood Cemetery in White Creek, N.Y. If friends desire, contributions in memory of Marjorie Tollisen may be made to either Saint Peters Episcopal Church or one’s favorite charity through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.
