Marjorie L. Gray

1928-2013 BENNINGTON Marjorie L. Gray, 85, died Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at the Southwestern Medical Center in Bennington following a short illness. Marjorie left this world surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 29, 1928 in Shaftsbury, the daughter of the late Arthur and Abbie (Niles) LaClair. Marjorie attended Shaftsbury schools and graduated from North Bennington High School in 1946. She was married to Lloyd Gray August 11, 1974 in Arlington and worked at the IGA store there. After moving to Brookfield Vermont in 1980 Marjorie worked at the P & C/Grand Union store in Randolph. She enjoyed sewing and doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Reginald Sr. and Diane Jennings of Arlington and Ronald and Debbie Jennings of Shaftsbury; a daughter, Janet Levine of Pownal; two step-daughters, Sonya Gardiner of Wakefield, RI and Donna Smith of Westerly, RI; two sisters, Betty Lukas of Hoosick Falls, NY and Joyce MacDonald of Roanoke, VA , thirteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Marjorie was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd Gray, a daughter, Sandra LaCross, a brother Wayne LaClair and a sister, Avis Whitman. FUNERAL NOTICE: Memorial services celebrating the life of Marjorie L. Gray will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 5:00 P.M. with the Rev. Dr. James H. Gray officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Graveside memorial services will be held at the Brookfield Center Cemetery in Brookfield, Vermont on Monday, October 7, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to either Bennington Project Independence or ones favorite charity through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
