Marjorie M. Snyder

1939 - 2010 SHAFTSBURY, VT Marjorie M. Snyder, 70, a resident of Grove Road in Shaftsbury, died unexpectedly Thursday, March 4, 2010, at her residence.

She was born in Bennington, Oct. 7, 1939, daughter of the late Clarence "Bid" Lewis and Marie Hall Lewis Wright. She received her education in Bennington.

Marjorie married Chauncey Robert Snyder, Jr., on April 25, 1987, in Bennington. In earlier years Marjorie was employed at Bell Laundry, Woolworth's and for several years sold Avon and Tupper Ware products. She enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, reading and shopping. Her main interest was her family and grandchildren.

She leaves her husband, Chauncey R. Snyder, Jr., of Bennington; her children, Dana Chellis of Shaftsbury, Joseph Chellis of Shaftsbury, Audrey Davis of Moxville, N.C., and Victoria Radcliffe of Shaftsbury; nine grandchildren, including her caregiver, Carri Radcliffe of Shaftsbury, Amanda Harrington, Nicolette Nash, David Moose, Jr., Bruce Davis, Jr., and Erica Davis, all of Statesville, N.C., Joseph, Scott and Jessica Chellis, all of Shaftsbury; four great-grandchildren, Kelsey Brown, Brayden Nash, Natalie Davis and Amelia Davis, all of Statesville; two brothers, Clarence "Sonny" Lewis of Balston Spa, N.Y., and William Wright of North Adams, Mass.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra Harrington, a son, Brian Chellis, four grandchildren, Jennifer, Danielle, Dana and Jason Chellis, and three brothers, Phillip Lewis, Joseph Wright and Edward Lewis.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME on Monday March 8, 2010, at 2 p.m. Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Monday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.

If friends desire, contributions in memory of Marjorie M. Snyder may be made to the VNA and Hospice at the Southwestern Vermont Health Care through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201
