1921 - 2015 BENNINGTON Marjorie Allen Wade, 94, passed away on Sunday September 27, 2015 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation. She was born Marjorie Louise Allen on August 30, 1921 to Marjorie Dunham and Irving Allen. She was a graduate of Benhi where she played the bass drum in the marching band. Marge began her hair stylist career with Peggy McClay then she moved on to the Powder Box. In 1972 she opened Marge's Beauty Nook in her home on Dewey Street. She continued to operate her shop until her first stroke at age 87. Always a very active and energetic woman, Marge loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed walking her Bichons, traveling, especially to the beach. Survivors include two sons and their wives, Allen and JoAnne Wade of Latham, NY and Samuel and Laura Colliano of Bennington; a daughter, Linda Burnham of Shaftsbury; her grandchildren, Bryce Wade, Wesley Wade, Shane Burnham, Katie Thurber, Trevor Colliano and Logan Colliano as well as nine great grandchildren and four nieces. She was predeceased by a son, Bryce K. Wade and two brothers, Robert Allen and John Allen. SERVICES: A graveside service will be held at Park Lawn Cemetery on Saturday October 3, 2015 at 11a.m. If friends desire contributions in memory of Marjorie may be made to Bennington Project Independence or the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.
