Mark A. Evans

1939-2013 BENNINGTON Mark Evans, 73, a resident of Foristell, Missouri and formerly of Pownal, Vermont, passed away Monday, February 11, 2013 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.

Mark was born in Cohoes, New York on December 5, 1939 the son of Mark and Charlotte (Subcliff) Evans and attended local schools. Mark enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country during the Viet-Nam era. He retired after serving for 20 years.

He worked as a meteorologist during his service time in the Navy and also in the private sector. Mark also worked in sales, selling weather instruments.

Mark is survived by his beloved wife Linda (Hopen) Evans of Foristell, Missouri whom he married in Missouri, January 1, 1995; his sons Michael Evans and his wife Corrine of Granville, New York, Mark Evans of Arlington, Vermont, Jason Evans of Ashton, Illinois and Justin Evans of Elbern, Illinois; his daughter Melissa Rice and her husband Seth of Manchester, Vermont; step-sons Paul Gamma and his wife Kim of St. Charles, Missouri and Brian Gamma of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; his step-daughter Gina Guard and her husband Eric of Elsbury, Missouri; brothers John Evans and his wife Nola of Pownal, Vermont and Robert Evans and his wife Margaret of Florida; his sister Delores Andrews and her husband George of Pownal; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Griggs.

A celebration of life for Mark A. Evans will be held at the Church of the Transfiguration at 1860 Lake St. Louis Blvd., on March the 23rd from 3 until 6 p.m.
