Marlene "Muffy" Bernhardt

1936 - 2015 ARLINGTON Marlene "Muffy" Bernhardt, 78, formerly of Arlington and Salem, N.Y., passed away May 27, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. Muffy was born in Roseland, N.J. on Dec. 16, 1936 the daughter of Herbert and Martha (Wilson) Booth and attended local schools. Muffy and former husband, Carl, owned Muffy's restaurant in Arlington and in more recent years worked as a private caregiver. Muffy enjoyed working outside in her flower beds, loved decorating her home, was an exceptional cook and cherished times spent with her family. Muffy is survived by her children, Brenda Crofut and her husband, Glenn, of West Arlington, Jeffrey Bernhardt of Manchester, and Mary Wilson and her husband, Philip, of Kingsbury, N.Y.; sister, Mary Lou Mariner and her husband, Tom, of Port Orange; brother, Howard (Joey) Booth and his wife, Marion, of West Caldwell, N.J.; and sister-in-law, Gail Booth of N.C.; grandchildren, Kyle Crofut and his wife, Randi, Kolby Crofut, and Levi and Audrey Wilson; and her great-granddaughter, Raelynn Crofut. She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Bernhardt; and siblings, Herbert (Jim) Booth, Harry (Al) Booth and Marcy Collins. At the request of the family there are no formal funeral services.
