Marnetta "Marty" Blake POWNAL, VT Marnetta J. "Marty" Blake, 70, widow of Ernest L. Blake, a resident of South Mason Hill Road, Pownal, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2011, at her residence.Born in Los Angeles, Calif., June 19, 1940, daughter of the late Everett and Iola Card Koell, she received her education in the Los Angeles and Glendale, Calif., schools. Mr. Blake died June 12, 2000. In earlier years, Marty had been employed at various nursing homes in Bennington. For many years, she owned and operated the Evergreen Mobile Home Park in Pownal. Marty was a member of Unit 90, American Legion Auxillary in Pownal. Her home and family were her main interest. Survivors include two sons, Roger "Roy" Parks and his wife Alesia of Williamstown, Mass., and Ernest P. Blake and his wife Jean of Williston; a daughter, Virginia Parks of Williamstown; six grandchildren, Travis, Tara, Roger and Daniel Parks and Koell and Ayden Blake; two great-grandchildren, Sabin Thibodeaux and Wyatt Taylor; two step-children, Martin Blake of Adams, Mass., and Celeste Blake of Orange, Mass.; two aunts and several nephews and cousins. Marty was predeceased by two sons, Ronny and Norman Parks and by a brother, Dick Koell. FUNERAL NOTICE: At Mrs. Blake's request, private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Burial will take place in the family lot in Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown, MA. Should friends desire, contributions in Mrs. Marnetta Blake's memory may be made to the Leukemia Foundation through the office of the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME, 628 main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
