NORTH POWNAL -- A mass of Christian death and burial for Mrs. Martha H. Tudor, was held on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in North Pownal, with the Rev. Robert Lozinski, pastor, officiating. Organist for the mass was Donald MacMahon, and the soloist was Monica Murray. Selected hymns for the mass included: “Softly and Tenderly Jesus is Calling,” “Amazing Grace,” “I Am The Bread Of Life,” and “Song Of Farewell.” The Old and New Testaments were read by close family friend, Kathy Jelley. The eucharistic gifts were presented at the altar by her great-grandchildren, Emily Tudor, Brionna Whitman, Sayde Whitman, Andrew Tudor, John-Curtis Whitman, and Wyatt Whitman

Pallbearers for the mass were, Timothy Tudor, Jason Tudor, Peter Dochum, Curtis Whitman, Gary Jelley Sr. and Gary Jelley Jr. Interment will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery in the spring.

On Tuesday afternoon Father Lozinski offered the vigil service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Martha H. Tudor, 96, widow of Earl E. Tudor and a lifelong resident of North Pownal, died on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004 at the Hoosick Falls Health Center, following a brief illness.

Arrangements were under the direction of the E.P. Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
