Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Martha L. Tripp were held from Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church Friday, August 12, 2005, where the liturgy of Christian death and burial was offered by the Rev. Vincent Coppola, c.s.c., associate pastor.

Assisting at the Mass were Mr. Francis Sauseville, Mr. Bernard Bourgeois, and Mr. Joseph Anton.

Organist was Louise Gauthier and soloist was Mildred Pierce. Hymns offered during the funeral mass were “Here I Am Lord,” “Just A Closer Walk With Thee,” “I Am the Bread of Life” and “Song of Farewell.” The funeral pall that draped Mrs. Tripp’s casket during the funeral Mass was placed by her children, Eugene Tripp and Rosanne Beauchamp. A wooden cross was placed on the casket by Eugene. The scriptural readings were offered by Betty Palmer, a close family friend, and the offertory gifts were presented by two grandchildren, Tania Powers and Lance Beauchamp.

Bearers were a grandson, Lance Beauchamp, three nephews, David Tripp, Richard Prentiss and John Gorman and a family friend, Dale Palmer.

A prayer service at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home preceded the funeral Mass.

On Thursday evening, the wake service was offered at the funeral home by the Rev. James Preskenis, c.s.c., pastor of Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church.

Burial took place in the family lot in White Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Coppolla, offering the committal prayers.

Following the services a reception for family and friends was held at the Bennington Station restaurant.

Mrs. Tripp, a longtime resident of North Branch Street, died Aug. 9, 2005 at the Centers For Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home.
