BENNINGTON -- Mary Ann Pierce, who would have turned 92 on April 13, passed away in the comfort of the Vermont Veteran’s Home in Bennington on April 4, 2007.

Mary Ann was predeceased by her husband, Col. Alfred W. Pierce Sr. in August of 1989. Together they had four children, Alfred W. Pierce Jr., Robert H. Pierce, Nancy J. Pierce Davis, and Ruth, twin to Robert, who died shortly after birth. Mary Ann leaves her three children and their families to include her six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Mary Ann spent the last several months in residence at the Vermont Veteran’s Home where she was very happy and content. She was very much loved by the staff, and the residents of the Home. Her family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to all of the staff at the Home for their wonderful compassionate care. It is truly a special place, with very special people.

Ann Marie Towslee, Mary Ann’s niece, was with her throughout this time, watching over her, and loving her. Mother would reach out for her and find comfort in her touch.

Heaven has gained a lovely angel to watch over us. Peace, dear mother.

Private services will be held at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., VT with burial in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
