HOOSICK FALLS Mary Ann Thomas, 64, formerly of Brooklyn, NY, passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015 at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation at Hoosick Falls. She was felled by a debilitating pneumonia after a lifetime of suffering from acquired cerebral palsy. Mary Ann had been a resident of the nursing home for the last 12 years. She had been a resident at Mary McClellan Skilled Nursing facility for the 16 years prior. Mary Ann shared her very full life with everyone she met. She often brought love and laughter to all she came in contact with especially with her friends from Brooklyn, NY; Tuckerton, NJ; Cambridge, NY; and Hoosick Falls, NY. During her lifetime, Mary Ann found joy in every situation, whether it was swimming with her family on the beaches of North Carolina, riding a pony on a friends farm or singing "You Are My Sunshine" with the other residents at the nursing home. Mary Ann was the fifth child of the late Charles Robert Thomas and Winifred Taylor Thomas. She is survived by her seven brothers & sister; Bob & Carol Thomas of Shelter Island, NY, Elizabeth & Joseph Convey of St. Petersburg, FL, Ted and Donna Thomas of Biloxi, MS, John and Doreen Thomas of Cambridge, NY., Stephen and Grace Thomas of St. Petersburg, FL, David Thomas of New York, NY and Brian and Peggy Thomas of Fairport, NY. FUNERAL NOTICE: Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015 at the Ackley, Ross & Gariepy Funeral Home, 73 West Main St., Cambridge. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at St. Patrick's Church, 17 S. Park St., Cambridge with Fr. Thomas Zelker officiating. Spring interment will take place at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Cambridge. Those who wish to remember Mary Ann in a special way may make memorial contributions in her memory to the Center for Living and Rehabilitation at Hoosick Falls, 21 Danforth St., Hoosick Falls, NY 12090.
