BENNINGTON -- Mary Bernice Sennett, 92, a 20-year resident of Colonial Gardens in Bennington and a former resident of Queensbury, N.Y. and Rutland, passed away Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, at her home at Fillmore Pond in Bennington.

She was born in Poultney, April 13, 1912. She was the daughter of the late James E. Sennett and the former Mary (Flood).

She received her education in Poultney and was a 1937 graduate of the University of Vermont.

Mary was a school teacher for more than 35 years and taught for many years in the Queensbury school district.

She was a devout Catholic and was a member of Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church in Bennington.

Survivors include a brother, Dr. Edward Sennett of West Hartford, Conn., and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Attorney William C. Sennett and James F. Sennett.

The funeral will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Wednesday, Feb. 23, at 10:30 a.m. with a prayer and then from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church at 11 a.m. where the liturgy of Christian death and burial will be offered.

The entombment will take place in Park Lawn Chapel with the burial to take place in the family lot in Saint Raphael’s Cemetery in Poultney in the spring.
